Japanese F1 Grandstand Viewing In General
Detailed Japanese F1 seating information on all grandstands is set out in the Japanese Grand Prix circuit maps below. The seating on 90% of grandstands for the 2012 Japanese F1 Grand Prix is uncovered - it is therefore highly recommended to prepare yourself, for all weather conditions e.g. sunscreen, umbrellas, hats, etc. All grandstands offer bigscreen viewing. We anticipate that tickets for which our opinion will be the more popular grandstands, like the Main A1 and A2, C, and F Grandstands, will tend to sell out first for the Japanese F1 Grand Prix. Only the main grandstand S is a covered grandstand on the Japanese Grand Prix Circuit.

Main Grandstand S Covered - High & A1, A2 Uncovered - Low View images
The three Main Grandstands A1, A2 & S, are located on the pit straight directly opposite the pit area, which means it presents you with a view of the racing teams and their pit activities. It also means that you will see the start/finish of the race, from the green light to the chequered flag, as well as have a clear view of the podium ceremony. The higher section S is covered and of the two lower sections, A2 will offer you a closer view of the pits and start line. The F1 Village area offering a great selection of official team and circuit products, is located behind the three Main Grandstands.
Two superscreen TV's are also located here enabling you to follow the entire race and not loose track of the procedures.
Grandstand B View images
The uncovered Grandstand B is situated 2/3 down the long pit straight, directly opposite the pit lane exit. The grandstand presents you with good views of a big section of the main straight, the pitlane exit as well as some rather distant views of the pit area and First Corner.
A superscreen TV is located here, enabling you to follow the entire race and not loose track of the action elsewhere.
Grandstand C View images
The uncovered grandstand C is one of the more popular grandstands on the Fuji Speedway, and provides seating for 2 200 spectators. The grandstand is situated at the end of the main straight just before the First Corner - a really exciting corner, especially on the opening laps. This down-hill right-hander, is potential the best overtaking point on the circuit, because it is relatively slow and comes at the end of the longest main straight of all the Grand Prix circuits! Accelerating along the start-finish straight, the cars should reach about 330kph in 7th gear before braking really hard. The drivers could experience up to 4.8 Gs under braking into the First Corner, as the cars reduce their speed to around 130 kph, all in about 90 metres! The grandstand also presents you with an excellent overall view of the main straight as well as good views on the opposite side of the track, as the cars exit the Third Corner, all the way down to Coca Cola Corner.
The grandstand also features a bigscreen TV, which for obvious reasons makes your entire Grand Prix so much more enjoyable.
Grandstand D View images
The uncovered Grandstand D is located on the outside of the Third Corner, a downhill right-hander that should probably be taken flat-out by the cars as they still accelerate out of the First Corner. This is one of the cheaper grandstands options on the Fuji Speedway, and provides you with similar views as Grandstand C but at nearly half the price. Definitely a good value for money option for the more budget conscious spectator.
A bigscreen is visible from this stand, which makes it so much easier for you to keep track of what is happening later on during the race.
Grandstand E View images
The uncovered Grandstand E is located on the outside of the Coca Cola Corner, the first left-hand corner on the circuit, followed immediately by the long and difficult 100R right-hander. The grandstand will give you good views of the cars as they exit from the First Corner, accelerate through the Third corner, all the way down the Coco Cola Corner and up into the 100R Corner. It is also the closest stand to the tour bus parking areas.
A bigscreen provides you with the opportunity to follow other parts of the race.
Grandstand F View images
The uncovered Grandstand F is located on the outside of the Hairpin Corner, another definite overtaking opportunity on the circuit. The grandstand will offer you excellent views of the cars exiting the challenging 100R corner, all the way through the hairpin and disappearing into the 300R Corner. The Orizuru restaurant is situated close to the F Grandstand, offering clients spectacular views of both Mount Fuji and the Hairpin Corner. The restaurant also features an official shop selling Fuji Speedway merchandise.
A bigscreen provides you with the opportunity to follow other parts of the race.
Grandstand G View images
The uncovered Grandstand G is located close to Grandstand F and offers spectators similar views to as described for Grandstand F above. Grandstand G is however much smaller and quite a bit cheaper compared to Grandstand F though.
The bigscreen diagonally opposite ensures you won't miss a second of all the other race action.
Grandstands H, J & I View images
All three these uncovered Grandstands are located around the Dunlop Corner, a tricky ninety degree right-hander. The Dunlop Corner also marks the start of the slower back section of the Fuji Speedway. Of the three grandstands H and J offer the best views and you can follow the cars as the exit they 300R Corner, all the way through both the Dunlop Corner, as well as Corner 13.
Both grandstands H and J offer bigscreen viewing, which makes it so much easier for you to keep track of what is happening later on during the race. At the moment it is still unclear whether Grandstand K will be provided with a bigscreen as well.
Grandstands L, M, N & P View images
These four uncovered Grandstands are all located around the stadium section of the Fuji Speedway and offer different angled views of the stadium section of the circuit. From these Grandstands you can see different views of Corners 13, 14, the Netz and Panasonic corners, as well as various sections of the first part of the Pits Straight. The Stadium section is the slowest part of the circuit, which will demand good mechanical grip from the cars and should also offer excellent photographic opportunities. The car's exit speed from the last Panasonic Corner will be critical for fast lap times and good top speeds down the ultra long pits straight.
Bigscreen TV's are located diagonally opposite all four these stands, which for obvious reasons makes your entire Grand Prix so much more enjoyable.
Grandstand Q View images
The uncovered Grandstand Q is located about one-third down the pits straight just before the pit lane entrance. The grandstand offers the best view of the pitlane entrance as well as some rather distant vies of the pit area.
The bigscreen opposite this grandstand intensifies the drama and magnifies the action on other parts of the circuit.
Disabled Spectators
Facilities for disabled spectators are well provided for and disabled facilities are available at the Main Grandstand, as well as Grandstands E, K and L.
General Admission Area
In general, provide for excellent viewing and offer good value for money admission. The Fuji Speedway is a naturally hilly circuit featuring a variety of steep mounds, which makes the viewing in the general admission areas good. But as always there are no seats and you must be there early to get a good spot, which you stand to loose should you have to visit a toilet or leave to buy food.
Other Fuji Circuit Facilities
The F1 Village is located behind the Main Grandstand area and circuit and other fan merchandise are on sale within this area as well as some interesting displays from the tire manufacturers and F1 related suppliers. It features pleasant grassed areas, coffee shops, fast food outlets and restaurants. The village is accessible from every grandstand. A similar area the Speedway Plaza is located in the proximity of Grandstand E offering similar facilities as the F1 Village area.
Food and beverage The organizers provide for a selection of food and beverages, at various outlets located around all the grandstand and general admission areas. The quality of the food in Japan is normally good, but the prices can be expensive.
