Korean F1 Grand Prix - 2012
Why Korea
Why Choose The 2012 F1 Grand Prix Of Korea
- Up until now, although one of the biggest producers of road cars in the world, Korea's been relatively quiet on the motorsport scene. That all changed with the Yeongam circuit, which should place the country firmly on the F1 map. The Yeongam track is situated on the South Jeolla region's coast. South Jeolla is a Korean province in the southwest of the country. South Jeolla, according to the Korean Tourist Board, is Korea's greenest province. The province is largely dependent on agriculture for its incomce. It experiences high levels of rainfall during the monsoon season, which runs from June to August.
- Visitors of Yeongam can explore the beautiful coastline where the track is located, when not enjoying the races. Around the track, the city of Jeollanam-do is rapidly expanding. This should in time provide a cityscape backdrop to the circuit's street circuit.
