Turkey F1 Grand Prix - 2011
Why Turkey
Why Choose The 2011 F1 Grand Prix Of Turkey
The 2011 Turkey F1 Grand Prix offers you some very unique F1 Grand Prix tour advantages which includes:
- Instanbul is charming blend of Western and Eastern culture; a modern city steeped in rich culture and history. Although Istanbul is not Turkey's capital, it remains the country's business and cultural centre. Istanbul is surrounded by water. There's the calm Sea of Marmara that's connected to the Black Sea via the Bosphorus River, which splits the city in two; one part in Europe, the other part in Asia. The city had previously been the capital of three empires, first as Byzantium, then Constantinople, and finally as Istanbul. The striking thing about its history is that each empire left a unique mark on the city. Churches, mosques, castles, palaces and monuments all form part of the cityscape, making for a very colourful destination.
- Just outside of Istanbul is Istanbul Park, home of F1 racing in Turkey. The circuit was designed by Herman Tilke, and officially opened August 2005. Istanbul Park has established itself as one of the favourite tracks on the F1 Grand Prix calendar, and proves to be a great test for both driver and car with its 14 bends and anti-clockwise orientation. One of the turns, the multi-apex Turn Eight, is one of Formula One's toughest corners. The track is fast, with two straights where the cars can reach speeds of around 330km/h.
